A Trucking First for the Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) Market
| In a bid to stay well ahead of their competitors, Natsure Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) & Commercial recently announced that fleet owners with a replacement truck-tractor, as part of their new Truck Hire option. These truck-tractor’s can be leased for a period of 30 days during which the fleetowners damaged vehicle is repaired after an accident. The cover will not replace the loss of use cover which is still available under an existing Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) policy. “In most circumstances, typical loss cover primarily provides compensation for income lost due to an accident and is not always sufficient to cover the rental of a replacement vehicle. This can leave the insured with a possible shortfall or could even cause the loss of a contract due to the insured not being able to fulfil his obligations,” Curtis Davey, HCV managing director at Natsure. This new value add to Natsure’s already wide ranging product bouquet is particualry suited to smaller fleet owners of five trucks or less. For these owners, all of their vehicles are constantly on the road leaving them without a backup vehicle in the event that one is damaged or involved in an accident. “This cover will give the insured piece of mind should these unforeseen events happen,” says Davey. “We are very excited about this new initiative and we believe that this will be a great value add to any transporter and for an intermediary trying to find solutions for the smaller truck owners,” adds Tersia Davey, director at Natsure. The product would also be suited to owner drivers where the truck tractor is the only source of income generation and could cause the owner to lose a contract due to non-delivery. |
